With Mt. McKinley towering 20,320 feet  above it,   Denali National Park and Preserve   is the crown jewel of Alaska. Denali Park is a must visit .  A Denali Park map shows the vastness of this wonderland --over six million acres. Sharing it's eastern boundary is the 325,240 acre Denali State Park. Together these two parks form a vast recreation area that offers unprecedented camping, hiking, sightseeing, river rafting, flightseeing, fishing, dog-mushing, biking, educational and personal revitalization opportunities.

Nowhere else in America will you have the wildlife viewing experience Denali National Park offers. Here the predator/prey balance exists as it did hundreds, even thousands of years ago.  This vast wilderness, untouched by urbanization offers you the opportunity to view some of North America's largest mammals in their natural habitat. This is the home of grizzly bear, moose, caribou, Dall sheep, wolves, fox, coyote, numerous smaller mammals and assorted species of birds, any of which may be spotted on a trip into Denali National Park. Though no two Denali tours are exactly the same, every Denali tour is unforgetable,

Mt. McKinley, called Denali--The Great One--by the indigenous Athabascan people, is the tallest mountain on the North American continent (and arguably the tallest mountain in the world). Towering over the rest of the Alaska Range, Denali creates its own weather system.  Most days the top is not visible; Denali is just a lurking presence. But if you are lucky enough to be here on a clear day, you will be awed by the majesty of Denali.

To preserve the natural beauty of Denali National Park, cars are not allowed in the park. Travel in Denali Park is by bus, van or bike.  Since the secret for getting the most from your visit to Denali National Park is to travel as deeply into the park as possible. we strongly recommend the full day tour into the Park - it is a tour that has left us, Alaskans for over 30 years, breathless.

If you can take the additional time we strongly recommend one of our multi-day Denali Tours.

Denali is easily accesible from either
Anchorage or Fairbanks. We highly recommend traveling there via the Alaska Railroad.
